Manvita Kamath, a popular actress in the Kannada film industry, is keeping busy with projects across various mediums. She recently spoke with Bangalore Times about her experiences in different platforms of cinema, including the rare direct OTT release for a Kannada film and her upcoming theatre release. She also shared insights on her career, lessons learned, as well as the support she receives from her husband and his family following their recent wedding. Manvita discussed her love for both the big screen and OTT platforms, highlighting how OTT enables reaching a wider audience without the restrictions of traditional theatrical releases. She expressed excitement for her upcoming projects, a bilingual film titled Chakhamakhi and a Kannada film called One and Half, set for release on different platforms. Manvita also touched upon her views on social media, emphasizing the importance of being cautious about what is perceived as true on these platforms. In the past, I felt that interviews were lacking in substance as a way to share news. Unfortunately, people often form their opinions based on what they see online. This means that aspects of our lives that aren't showcased may be overlooked, such as our dedication to our work, our discipline, and our respect for our craft. It's essential to not let external negativity impact me. I greatly value the guidance of my mentors and the unwavering support of my husband Arun and his family. While my mother initially discouraged me from entering the film industry, my husband and his family appreciate and celebrate my achievements. Reflecting on my journey, I realize that I was perhaps naive for a considerable part of my career. However, as I continue to grow, both personally and professionally, I've learned to set boundaries and not allow myself to be taken advantage of. I have distanced myself from individuals who undermine my self-esteem. My focus is on doing meaningful work, and I refuse to let negativity dampen my spirits.
